Abstract
Experts in business, management, and accounting have increasingly relied on Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) due to its flexibility in assessing complex relationships and handling assumptions related to normality and sample size. While PLS-SEM is widely used, its adoption trends, methodological gaps, and concerns about its excessive usage across various disciplines require further investigation. This paper employs a comprehensive bibliometric analysis to map the knowledge structure of PLS-SEM modeling in these fields. This study examines historical growth trends, cross-disciplinary applications, and unresolved methodological challenges by analyzing the Scopus database. Through a systematic review of 3385 articles using the PRISMA framework, the results reveal that sustainability and social media have emerged as dominant research themes, while critical methodological concerns, including overuse and validity issues, remain insufficiently addressed.
